The next 3 steps we’ll talk about what are in my opinion the top 3 social sites you need to join.
I’ll start with Twitter. Some of you may be saying what does Twitter have to do with marketing? On the front end nothing. But on the back-end twitter is one of the more important micro-blogging platforms you should use.
The guidelines for using social media are simple:
Don’t spam your list
Be sociable
Expand your circle influence of by connecting with like-minded folks
Don’t be one big commercial

Today I’m going to talk about the role of social media in your marketing campaign. In my opinion there are 5 minimum steps that you need to have in place in order to use social media in your marketing campaign.
The first step may surprise you. But here it is:
#1 You need to OWN your name. Just like this blog–KellyRorick.com I buy all of my domains from Godaddy. So before you proceed in marketing–go now and buy your OWN name as a domain!
Why your name first? With the focus on the internet you can consider that the virtual real estate (VRE) you own is very valuable. You should own your own name. Then you can start to buy other domains–1 for your business opportunity that you can forward and use your name as your blog.
Stay tuned for step 2 in preparing for your social media presence.
